Sunny weekend

Dec 3rd, 2008 Posted in lucy | Comments Off

Lucy thought that peeking out through the Stone Arch Bridge was very cool. Every time Andy would look over the edge she would stuff her head through to see what was so interesting. My inlaws were here for the weekend and we took a long walk from our house to downtown Minneapolis.

So Many Projects

There’s nothing like a gently snoring dog next to you on the couch to zap every bit of motivation to get up and do something. I have been working like a mad woman lately. I delivered 75 sets of buttons with geeky textile saying on them to the Shop at the Textile Center. They already need to be restocked. I sold half of my inventory of puppets in one morning there last week (all of the lions!) so I need to get to sewing more puppets. My final write-ups and samples for the book “One Yard Wonders” were due last week. I have 2 projects in the book which is scheduled to be published in late 2009. I still have to write a bio for them. My new baby nephew threw off my schedule for getting his room decor done and so I finished these for him:

This evening I should really try to convert the photo studio back in to a guest room so my inlaws have a place to sleep when they come visit very soon.

the end is in sight….

* Thanks to some fantastic macro photography by my superhubby, I have finished some of the nicest handouts I have ever done for a class. (At least I think so.) It is hard to take photos of yourself doing embroidery. Not enough hands.

* We finished our taxes. TurboTax tried to tell us we made $332,000 last year (so not true) but we tracked that down.

* We cleaned the house from corner to corner. I would say top to bottom but we didn’t do the basement. That’s for another time. The main floor is spiffy and so needed to be done. Spring = muddy puppy feet! Still need to vacuum and find someplace to put a dining-room-chair-full of books.

* Walked and walked. It got up to about 45 degrees here and I wore my sunglasses. It was heaven. Our poor old dog was a little stiff when she got done with her first real hike of the spring. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow.

* On our walk got to see the grand re-opening of one of my favorite local fabric stores – Crafty Planet They moved to a new location (still within walking distance – hooray!) and the new shop looks fantastic!

* Off to bed.

A Lovely weekend

Hooray. Image issues have been fixed. So now you can see this cute bunny, who I met at the booksigning for Disapproving Rabbits on Friday.

While I worked on Saturday (demos for an art educator conference), Andy took my puppy hiking and swimming! Brrr! Don’t they know it’s November?
