The best handmade gift I have ever gotten: I love a lot of pretty awesome handmade gifts so I will share two favorites: My engagement ring. My husband folded an origami butterfly ring out of silvery paper and gave me that when he proposed. I also have a carved and painted tiny wooden giraffe that my dad made for my mom when they were dating/newlyweds. Last year for Christmas, my mom decided that the little giraffe needed to come stay with me.
The handmade gift I am proudest of: Usually that is the last thing I finished. So right now I am proudest of a beautiful lace cowl I made for my friend Lynn’s birthday. She is a pretty stellar knitter, so I worked really hard to make sure it would be something she would love.

My favorite gift I have received is something I just got today! My guild did a holiday swap and I sent out my Wonderland honey bun to be played with. In return my friend Rachel made a me a lap quilt! It is gorgeous and so soft. That was so sweet of her and I love it. I am a quilter but I have never made myself a quilt.
Thank you for the giveaway!

The best homemade gift was a “car ferry” made out of cereal boxes. My son made it for me for Mother’s Day when he was three. (think I need to train him up a bit more)
My gift I’ve made that I’m most proud of is a crocheted owl tote bag with sewn in liner that I made for my friend Tara over at sewtara.com Like your scarf for your knitting friend, she sews so I was really trying hard to make the lining part as best I could. :)
My favorite Christmas gift I made was a quilted wall-hanging for my aunt.
The best gift I’ve ever given? I’m really looking forward to giving my hubby a quilt this Christmas that is made out of orange fabrics. I’ve been wanting to give him something that means something, that I’ve made since I’ve begun quilting this year.
Just made a queen size quilt for my bro-in-law….can’t believe I got it done in time for Christmas.
The best handmade gift I received was a stained glass heart.

best handmade gift was not only for me, but for other family members. My mother was going thru chemo and I gave her a pattern for a crocheted bell as she wanted a small project to do, she thought she was making them for my tree, but I had another idea in mind. Mom passed before she could finish the bells, so I took them and finished them, I placed them in boxed I had made with my mother photo on it, enclosed this note.. I love you all dearly, now don’t shed a tear, I spending my Chrismas with Jesus this year. I also added a letter of how I had mom make the bells knowing she wouldn’t be with us for Christmas and this was her last gift to all of us. I sent the bells to family and friends.
I don’t receive many handmade gifts but I do give a few. I really liked a shawl I made for my mom.
I loved the hand-knit sweaters that my Nana used to make us when we were kids. I need to convince her to make me a grown-up version!

The quilt I just made for my friend Anne is probably the gift I’m the most proud of lately – although the quilt I’m currently working on for my friend Talia might beat it out! Nothing better than quilt gift-giving! :) Thanks!
I made a sailboat quilt for my new baby based on a Flickr photo without a pattern, and it turned out great.
