The best handmade gift I have ever gotten: I love a lot of pretty awesome handmade gifts so I will share two favorites: My engagement ring. My husband folded an origami butterfly ring out of silvery paper and gave me that when he proposed. I also have a carved and painted tiny wooden giraffe that my dad made for my mom when they were dating/newlyweds. Last year for Christmas, my mom decided that the little giraffe needed to come stay with me.
The handmade gift I am proudest of: Usually that is the last thing I finished. So right now I am proudest of a beautiful lace cowl I made for my friend Lynn’s birthday. She is a pretty stellar knitter, so I worked really hard to make sure it would be something she would love.

The best gift I ever made was a quilt for my nephew.
a purple velvet duvet cover. From my mom, it was beautiful!
Patchwork wristlet for my sister!!
Thx for the chance to win ^^v
I don’t think I could really decide what is the BEST EVER handmade item I’ve received, but the best lately would have to be an adorable crocheted robot I got in a swap, he was made just for my robot-obsessed self & I love him!
The best handmade gift I ever received was a crocheted banquet sized tablecloth. And a few years ago, I sent my dear sewing sisters from all over the US a heart shaped pin cushion for Valentines day monogrammed and with a pocket for sewing supplies on one side. They were well received.
My mother in law is a quilter and she is progressively making quilts for the whole family. We asked her to make us a quilt for our 10 year wedding anniversary. My hubby and I picked most of the fabrics and the design and she sewed it for us. I love that we all had a contribution towards making the finished gift.
I just received the most darling little ornament from a swap partner that I absolutely love! Not a lot of my family and friends make things, so I usually don’t receive handmade gifts. Thanks for the chance to win!
The best handmade gift I got are the handmade wooden dollhouse my dad made and a spice cabinet he made for antique ceramic spice drawers. He made it for my mom and she gave it to me. My dag died 35 years ago and these are the only two things I have made by him.
My mother knitted me a fisherman’s knit sweater about 30 years ago was made out of lovely cream colored yarn, I still have it, it’s a bit thin and pilly but I still wear it around the house!
I’m most proud of the postage stamp quilt I made as a surprise gift for my mother this summer.
Recently my Mum gave me a quilt she’s been working on/off, for me, for 20 years! I love it.
The Hand made gift I am most proud of is the pair of dolls I made with Japanese cotton dresses and matching coloured hair and boots. They were for my friends daughter and they were the first soft toys I made and they were beautiful.
I made homemade salt scrub and lip balm last year for the holiday and they were a hit! nice giveaway, i would love that book!
A bag I made for my college going sister. I feel so proud when I see her carrying books to class with it.
I’m proudest of the I Spy quilt I made for my gds. I can’t wait till they see it at Christmas!
For our 10th anniversary I made my husband an art quilt depicting his childhood home. Sadly, no one seems to give me handmade gifts! Merry Christmas!
Oooh, I’ve got that book on my wishlist but it isn’t released in the UK yet.
I make all my presents, so I’m not sure what my favourite would be. Probably the little linen bunnies I made recently for various babies.
I have to comment just to see if you read them all (what are sisters for :) )………but our current favorite handmade gift is Cocoa the Horse :)
Of course I read them all! You can’t get by me, sneaky sister.
The best handmade gift I received was a hand painted portrait of my daughter. Love it!
A quilt I designed for my mom!
I’m proudest of the purse I just made my mother-in-law for Christmas! She wanted a conceal/carry purse (for her gun), so I figured out how to make a pretty one (most of the ones you can buy are UGLY!). I’m really proud of it and the secret/easy access compartment. I’ve gotta say though… I’ve never designed a bag around a firearm!
Meredith, that is so funny! I have made a gun carrying case too.
I received a scrapbook for my twin boys’ first year. That was really special. Proudest I am of something I made… I made a scrapbook for my SIL’s first born, a layout per month, and I am currently working on a fabric doll carrier for my niece and a lamb softie for my baby girl. I am pretty proud of anything I give, otherwise I don’t send it!
My favorite gift ever was from my aunt for hugh school graduation – a quilt!! My daughter now uses it on her bed, 15 years later!
The gifts I love the best are the pictures and cards my children make me. I am most proud of the quilts I make for others. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’m really excited about the little crochet monsters I’m making to fill my baby’s stocking. :)
I think I’m the same…the gift I’m proudest of is usually the last thing I made! And my favorite gift I have ever received would probably be a quilted lap top case my friend made me with the British Flag designed into it. It’s really neat!
I was so excited to make my first quilt and give it to my son. He was about 2 and he screamed that he didn’t want it touching him. Go figure. :-( It eventually grew on him a little
Im so proud of the new dresses I made this year for my daughter.
Best received was a doll dress my mom made for my cabbage patch doll. It meant a lot because I knew she hated to sew.
baby booties from hand dyed yarn
I really loved the baby quilt I made for my nephew. It was an awesome process and a great result!
Best received is the throw my mom crocheted for me a couple of years ago. I’m using it right now!

I was making it for my future husband. I was 14!

When I got married, the ladies in my knitting group gave me a blanket they had all made together by knitting a bunch of squares… I treasure that blanket, which has lasted longer than my marriage!
Thank you for this giveaway!!
I’m in love with some pullovers and hats my aunt knitted for me.
And my favourite projects of 2011 is a patchwork pillowcase I made with paper piecing tecnique (lot of exagons!).
SIlvia
I’ve gotten some fabulous baby quilts and blankets. Thanks!
the best handmade gift received?? probably a little bowl that my son made for me in his class last year, all painted in purple, pink, and green–my favourite colours! he sure does pay attention! :)
I am most proud of a quilt I made my niece :)
My most cherished handmade gift is a crocheted blanket with a rather unfortunate color palate. My husbands grandmother made it just before she passed away at 98 years with whatever yarn she happened to have. The gift I’m proudest of is probably a quilt I made for a family member.
I am giving a quilt to my little brother next week and I love it and am really proud of it!
The best handmade gift I have ever received was a matchbox decorated like a coffin with candy inside for Halloween. It was so creative!
The gift that I’m most proud of was a quilt I made for a friend that has cancer.
I made Waldorf dolls for my three daughters last year.
Best gift ever was from my dear grandma. She made a scrap patchwork quilt for me and embroidered my name on it and backed it in our favorite color: purple. I used to look at the fabrics and try to remember if the fabric were left over from something she had made for me or my brother. So much love and practicality went into that quilt!
My favorite gift to give was a hat and scratchy socks made out of Candide yarn. It was the 80’s and sock weight yarn was only available in acrylic. My next favorite was the spindle-spun knit scarf, also for my dear old dad.
I made my daughter a baby blanket for her dolls, I think it’s so sweet!
I made a quilt for my son that was born this year. :)
The best handmade gift I have ever gotten was a scrap quilt from my grandmother.
My birthday is this Saturday, and this would be a wonderful birthday present!
The gift that I am proudest of is a crochet shawl that I made my sister-in-law for her wedding to my brother. It was the first time I crocheted with thread and took me, oh about 50 hours! It ended up beautiful and she didn’t know it was coming!
