That’s it. Pretty simple!
And I want to play along too, since it’s not fair to ask all of you to do all the work, so…
The best handmade gift I have ever gotten: I love a lot of pretty awesome handmade gifts so I will share two favorites: My engagement ring. My husband folded an origami butterfly ring out of silvery paper and gave me that when he proposed. I also have a carved and painted tiny wooden giraffe that my dad made for my mom when they were dating/newlyweds. Last year for Christmas, my mom decided that the little giraffe needed to come stay with me.
The handmade gift I am proudest of: Usually that is the last thing I finished. So right now I am proudest of a beautiful lace cowl I made for my friend Lynn’s birthday. She is a pretty stellar knitter, so I worked really hard to make sure it would be something she would love.

Oh – I love that book – it’s been on my wishlist for a while now. Thank you for a chance to win it :)
I made my hubby an Ipad pouch that he is actually using. I am proudest of this because I tend to sew up things with loads of flair and he is a very simple kinda guy. So I used black cloth and just did quilty lines and a big wooden button. Voila! He loved it, I loved that he is actually using it – so all in all a good project.

I’ve made baby quilts for each of my nieces and nephews – those are probably my favorite handmade gifts.
I made a beautiful rainbow ruffles dress for my daughter :)
Thanks!
I made small wallhangings for our French neighbors , I used Dutch folklore fabric.
I made a quilt for my daughter to take with her to China! Thanks!
I was quite proud of a bag I made for a friend which she wore until it almost fell apart.
The best I have ever made was a table runner with matching place mats and napkins for my sister. It took forever because I shashiko quilted it on my machine in silk, but it was–if I do say so myself gorgeous and she loved it! Thanks for having such a lovely give away.
I made a fan quilt block quilt for my grandmother this year for Christmas. It was just really really lovely!! Thanks for the chance!
My gift that I’m most proud of would be my first quilt ever, that I sent overseas to a child in need. :)
The best handmade gifts I ever received were the quilts my grandma made.
When I was little, my mom and dad made me the most amazing dollhouse. My dad built it out of wood and my mom painted it, wallpapered the rooms, and “carpeted” it with old washcloths. I still love it! Thanks for the giveaway.
The best gift I’ve made was an embroidered wall hanging for my brother’s wedding.
I’m most proud of a dress I made for myself this year. It was my first time tackling such a big project (full-length zipper, full lining, darts, etc.) and I succeeded! It wasn’t easy, and I had to rip out a lot of seams, but I did it!
Awesome giveaway. I always love handmade gifts not sure what my fav would be maybe some dutch houses my sister free-hand stitched for my birthday recently. This year I’ve been most proud of the varnished retro coasters I’ve made people. Miriam
I was proudest,if I could say that, of giving tissue holders to the couples at the respite retreat we attended. I admit I feel insecurity when giving someone something handmade, but I knew that the holders would come in very handy. And they were all so grateful to receive them.
I’m most proud of the wall hanging quilt I’ve made for the aunt who taught me to quilt.
My fave handmade gift received was the little drawing my now hubby made me when he was “wooing me”…
Thanks for sharing the awesome book!
The best handmade gift I have received would be all the Christmas ornaments my children have made for me at school. They get hung up every year and reminisced about each time they are unpacked!
I’m proudest of the sweater I knit for my neice this xmas! It was my first sweater I have ever made :)
The best handmade gift I ever received was a wooden doll house that my grandpa made for me when I was 7. It was so lovely! He even decorated each room in the house to mimic the rooms in my actual house. I remember being SO amazed that the wallpaper in the “little girls room” was exactly the same as the wallpaper in my room! SO special!
Best,
Michelle
I am proud of the quilts that I have made and given as gifts. Thank you.
Oh how cool, thanks for the chance to win!
People never give me handmade pressies :( But the one I’m proudest of is the dress I made for my mum this year, fully lined, with French seams and all. She loved it, but then she’s practically a walking advert for all my little makes (I’m not very girly but I do love to make jewellery and handbags too lol)
I made a quilt from bandanas for my parents Thanks!
The thing I made that I am the proudest of was my wedding dress. Then I used the left over lace to use on my daughter’s first holy communion dress. My favorite thing made for me was a wonderful side table my son made.
I’m working on placemats for a gift this Christmas. They are turning out pretty nice. I’m quite proud of them.
The best handmade gift I ever recieved was a beautiful twin size quilt HAND quilted by my grandmother. It’s so beautiful I actually keep it packed away, but I should really pull it out and use it, that’s probably what she intended it for anyway!
I really love the baby clothes quilt I made for my youngest daughter… I hope she’ll agree one day! http://ellebelleblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/my-memory-quilt.html
Best handmade gift I ever received was my grandmother made my entire family stockings…knitted ones. We still hang them today. Thanks for a chance to win a great book.
my friend crocheted me a gorgeous ripple blanket when my husband and i bought our first house. i just love it.
I am proudest of the pottery I have made this year. I know that they will be some of the best gifts out there! I can’t wait to share them with my friends and family.
I haven’t received any handmade gifts for myself but I am most proud of the Waldorf doll I recently made for my daughter.
The two quilts made by my mother & mother-in-law for my baby. I love wrapping her in love!
My favorite quilt was a quilt using the Pussy and The Owl fabric. My sister illustrated and bound a copy of the fairy tale as a present for her best friend’s new baby.
The best gift I have made is a hand knit afgan for my daughter.
I love a couple of the bags I have made for people … or maybe my sons christmas stocking this year is a new favorite.
I feel so honored to be mentioned in your blog. And of course I love the cowl and everyone who sees it loves it too.
My favorite homemade gift that I have made was the funky monkey quilt that I made my son for his sixth birthday. He is a monkey fanatic. You can see it here:

I am most proud of the quilt I made for my son. A batik diamond pattern. He picked out the fabrics and it’s the most satisfying thing I’ve ever done.
I made my mom an ironing board cover for the ironing board in her sewing room.
My Amy Butler Blossom bag! Was the toughest thing I’ve made and I love it!

When we were first dating my husband designed and sewed for me a corduroy carrying case for my my Djembe drum. It was flawless and fit my drum like a glove. It is the best handmade gift by far and the only time he ever used a sewing machine:)
My favorite gifts to give are a treat tailored to the receiver, usually cookies or a pie.
I’m just finishing a quilt for my sister that’s the gift I’m most proud of. I learned a lot of new techniques making it, and I love the color combination so much that I kind of want to keep it for myself!
Most of my christmas gifts are handemade this year. I sewed some wine Bottle covers and hanging wall organizers (both patterns from the book one yard wonders 1)
Most proud I’m of the hanging wall organizer I made for my boyfriend with such a nice Ikea fabric (turned out perfect).
My mother is a basketmaker and she made my eldest daughter a moses basket(crib) when she was born. It has been used for all 4 of our children.
I haven’t received many handmade gifts but a friend made me an appliqued tea cosy, which I love.
The item that I am the proudest of is the quilt I made for my new nephew and gave to my sister-in-law at her shower.. It was the first thing I had EVER sewn so it was far from perfect, but I really loved it!
Thanks for the chance to win.
The gifts I made and I’m in love with is.. the wedding pillow to my new sister-in-law. I cross-stitched from a cute pattern with their date on it, then made it into a pillow cover, and then made the pillow form to fit the cover. I love it, =)
Happy Holidays!
Best present I have made was a robot wallhanging for a little guy. Thanks for the chance to win a great giveaway.
The best handmade gift I’ve received is probably the least interesting quilt my mom has ever made — a tied flannel quilt made up of boring squares. It’s simple, but she made it extra long (so I can wrap it around my feet). I’ve slept with it and napped with it for about 15 years now, and still love it!
