Spend an hour each week stitching in this fun hand embroidery sampler class, held online via Zoom. This is an 13 week class, starting May 22, 2025.  Class dates: Thursdays May 22 – August 21, 12:00 – 1:00 pm Central Time (no class the week of July 4). Live sessions are held each week, but your registration for this class includes access to pre-recorded lessons, so if you need to miss any class, you can catch up with the recording on your own schedule. This class is great for beginners. A little experience with hand sewing will be helpful.

Stitches in this project will include: fern stitch, berry stitch, fly stitch, Spanish knotted feather stitch, french knots, feather stitch, sorbello stitch, sailor stitch, threaded coral stitch, triple chain, detached chain, bullion knots, blanket stitch, Indian edging stitch, couching and wheat ear stitch. Some of the stitches include beads. You may have some stitching to complete outside of class time and video lessons will be available for you to review.

Your class fee includes a pre-printed panel of velveteen fabric, professionally printed by Spoonflower. The fabric has a plush texture and a slight sheen. The finished design is 8×8 inches and the panel includes a 1 inch border. Colors include navy, plum, eggplant, teal, black and chartreuse green.

Your materials kit will also include an optional piece of fusible fleece fabric (used instead of an embroidery hoop), size 8/0 metallic seed beads, and four colors of solid and variegated #8 perle cotton thread used for the stitches. (Thread colors from Wonderfil Call-A-Treuse, Scarlet Letter, Battlefield and Pure Puppy Love.) (Extra materials kits will be available after May 1.)

Your panel can be finished many ways: frame it as embroidered art, use as the center of a pillow or an oversized pocket on a tote bag.
