If you already know a few hand embroidery stitches, then this class is the next step. We will do a quick stitch refresher and then create a monogram or other personalized design to put on a tea towel or pillowcase. This class is about design choices – when to use what stitch, how to combine them, and how to add and mix colors to add to your design. You should be familiar with a few basic stitches before you come to this class (for example: back stitch, chain stitch, satin stitch.)

Supply list for Intermediate Embroidery

Please bring the following items to class (or you can purchase them at the shop before class starts)

  • Embroidery needles. I recommend John James, assorted sizes 5/10.
  • One 5-7” embroidery hoop. Wooden or plastic is fine.

The tea towel/pillowcase and other supplies are included in your class fee.

You should be a little familiar with hand embroidery before you come to this class. You should know how to do a few basic stitches (like chain stitch, back stitch, and/or satin stitch). I will do a very quick refresher at the beginning of class so we all are on the same page, but you will be able to choose stitches that you are comfortable with to complete your project.
