That’s right, it is Blog Giveaway Day once again. This is a bi-annual event, co-ordinated by the hard-working team at SewMamaSew. Bloggers participate by offering a giveaway on their blog and then linking up to the SewMamaSew site so that everyone shows up together as a big giveaway party. So be sure to jump over there and browse the other giveaways too!
THE BIG PRIZES
These were a big hit last year, so I am giving away two again this year: Little Loom Kits. Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave? I designed these looms and have them lasercut from bright colored acrylic plastic. They are a simple frame style loom, just right for making coasters and little squares of woven fabric. Knitters – you can use up all of your scrap yarn! The “kit” comes with the complete instructions, the loom, three needle-style shuttles and a “beater” comb for packing the rows together. They are fun and easy to learn.
RUNNERS UP
And because I know it is just really fun to win something, I am going to make a few more people happy and draw some random names to receive a “High in Fiber” bandana. These are hand-dyed and silkscreened from my sheepy illustration, 100% cotton, machine washable. I use these bandanas for everything – as a tea towel, to wrap up my scissors before I throw them in my knitting bag, as a picnic plate/napkin, keep one in the car for spills, as a handkerchief, and my husband wears one under his bike helmet to keep the sweat out of his eyes. Darn useful.

(Edited: So sorry, the blog was down for a few hours on Wednesday night! We are back now.)
bamboo cause it’s very green!!
Hemp’s good too.
Would love one of these been talking about getting a loom.
How fun! These are so cool. Thanks for the giveaway! I love linen, but probably use cotton more.
My favourite fibre is cotton – it is so simple and versatile.
Fave fiber, gosh every textile I see/feel is a favorite with me. I probably buy more quilting cotton than anything though so that will be my choice! Your loom looks like so much fun! I really like the setup of your blog page and header. The colors are some of my favorites.
These are so cool! They look much safer and less fiddly than the ones with nails in a piece of wood. I’m a fan of wool for knitting and cotton for sewing/weaving.
i like cotton for sewing
I love cotton. So all-purpose.
Those looms are fabulous! I’d have to say my favorite fiber is merino wool. I absolutely love knitting with it. :)
You just can’t beat cotton for versatility and strength.
I really like to work with cotton — fabric and yarn. I just like the way they feel and the flexibility you have with cotton (dye, etc).
I love linen. It’s lightweight, comfortable. Not to mention it looks professional as well.
I love this loom kit! My kids would have a blast with this, as would I.
I think my current favorite has to be baby alpaca yarn. It’s just so soft and lovely to work with.
Brilliant, Fab & Awesome!! I’ve never ever ever seen them before and now that I have I want one (pretty please of course)!!
:)
Definitely cotton. Soft and easy and natural and casual.
I like cotton right now because I am currently studying in a super humid place and cotton breathes a lot easier than man-made fabrics.
Cotton because it’s so durable and easy to clean!
Cotton especially, and 2nd is linen. I love them in fabric form :)

I love bamboo. In all its forms. I love using it to knit with, to crochet with and to sew with. It makes a beautiful wadding for quilts and it is so soft and warm.
LOVE IT!
my favorite fabric is cotton. specifically i love brushed cotton because it’s so soft and silky feeling. bamboo is a quick second. especially when working with yarn…. it feels just heavenly in a scarf or hat for winter!
i see theres a lot of post what kind of fabric you like…i honestly didnt know there was so much awesoem fabric out there until i came here…all i knew was joann and their fabric is eh…im tryng to learn a lot from here so i can find many places that sells wonderful fabric…i know i found many on sewmamasew.com! sorry i couldnt really answer your question but thanks so much for the post! i love learning new crafts ^^
I prefer cotton as there are more fabric options to choose from, plus it’s easy to work with and sew.
Even if I love silk and wool, my all time favorite is still pure and high quality cotton! The one with the smooth surface which is cool on the skin, won’t caught dust and hair like cheap cotton, and is so easy to wash and clean… just durable!
And if there are any stains which are really non removeable.. I just dye it over! Regardless if this belong to cotton yarn or fabric.
Oh I hope I win this loom it looks fun and easy!!! Thanks for participating in the giveaway and for your generous prizes!!
My favorite fabric is cotton because it is so breathable and easy to work with.
Thanks again and have a great day,
Maureen
How to choose a favourite fabric! I think I would say cotton. It is lovely to sew with, to crochet with and lovely to wear too :)
my favourite fiber is linen in the form of fabric – it’s comparably cheap it doesn’t get too hot under it in summer, it keeps you warm in winter. It’s a good “soaker” if you use it as kitchen towels, it can come in a lot of different “textures” very fine almost looking like cotton or very rough and thick if you go for apple / potatoe sacks.
I was going to say that my favorite fiber is silk but I am thinking maybe it is tencel. I like them both! I love the way the silk soaks up dye and how the colors are so vivid. I think that tencel has a little more shine though. I love spinning both!
I love cotton, it works with everything!!!
Right now my favorite is bamboo because it’s really good for the cloth diapers I’m making!
My favorite is cotton! I love it, and I love to iron with steam, so ya kinda need cotton or linen for that!
I love cotton because it breathes, so i only wear cotton during the hot summer months.
I like bamboo – it can be transformed into so many things and is also nice to wear. Thanks for the clever weaving frame giveaway.
My favorite – cotton. So useful and feels good!
Bamboo b/c it is renewable, soft, and the plants it comes from provide more oxygen per square inch than a tree.
My favorite fiber is wool and silk blend. But linen is a close second, for the way it takes dye and its crunchiness!
Thanks for the chance!
I love rayon-lycra knits as well as bamboo knits.
My favourite fibre… probably merino wool, soft and luxurious :-)
I like cotton the best because I don’t have to worry about anyone having sensitivities or allergies. Plus it’s just nice to work with.
My favorite is cotton flannel, because its warm (but not hot) and oh so cosy. I have flannel pjs pants and flannel sheets so that sleeping is extra nice :)
I have several skeins of bamboo that I love to pet, because it is so silky and yummy. I like cotton too !
Favorite fiber… sewing wise I’m a fan of cotton (it’s very versatile). Knitting wise I love anything alpaca.
I think my fav. material has to be linen. It is so easy to work with. I love your little weaving looms. My daughter loves to weave.
My favorite textile is cotton, but I just bought silk to make some pillowcases. I’ve never worked with silk before, but it feels so yummy!
I mostly stick to cotton but I recently was given some wool and it’s easy to work with!
I’d have to say cotton because that’s what I mostly sew with.
I love silk! I love everything about silk! I love the feel and the texture and I love this giveaway!!! Thanks so much!
I love cotton, because it is soft and casual. Thanks for the great giveaway!
This kit is amazing, thanks for the chance to win it.maybe it is suitable for 6 year girl.
I like bamboo and hemp, they’re so green and soft.
But good old cotton is just so versatile! :)
for my quilrs I use cottons and since that is the most of what I do then cotton is my favorite
I am a huge fan of cotton!
