Yarn: Sublimity, colorway Mocha, by All for Love of Yarn (merino, silk & cashmere)

I needed something quick to knit to wear to a friend’s wedding and this fit the bill. Easy pattern. I have been meaning to make a “feather and fan” shawl for a while. I got this yarn as a treat for myself at the Shepherd’s Harvest Festival. I always get a little treat from All for Love of Yarn because I love her dye work. Semi solids are hard to do and she does it well.

Pattern: Butterick 4686 (I did the shorter variation)

Fabric: random quilting cotton from Joann’s on sale. I liked this big floral. (It’s a little more mustard/olive than it appears in the photo.)

Love this pattern as well. It fits perfectly and went together really nicely. The yoke lets it fit really smoothly at the waist/hips but still be a very flowy/full skirt at the bottom. The pattern has several variations and I am going to try the pleated one next.
