The Artwear Symposium starts for me today with artists arriving and classrooms getting set up and lots of paperwork. So here is my artwear for the day: Space Shuttle Skirt! Andy did the shuttle artwork & made the silk screen; we screened it on to my skirt; then I reverse appliqued the Earth and the moon and made a skirt.

this is great!
I live in Brevard County, Florida, and our local Florida Institute of Technology is the site of the textile museum described in this link http://textiles.fit.edu/ – Ruth Funk always called her creations “wearable art”, and your beautiful skirt certainly qualifies.
That looks like a great museum! Maybe we will be in the area someday and get to visit. I had a lot of fun reactions wearing the skirt yesterday. Someone said “you have an airplane on your skirt”. The artists who arrived for the conference wanted to know “how” and “why” I made it. The girls at the coffeeshop loved it. :)
