Welcome to Blog Giveaway Day. I am participating, along with eleventy-seven other bloggers, to give away fun handmade and crafty stuff via the Sew,Mama,Sew blog.
Here’s what you need to do to enter.
1. Make a comment on this post answering this question: What is your favorite handmade object?
(Don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up right away. I have to approve it first. I will do that whenever I can throughout the day.)
2. Make sure I can contact you. Enter your email address in the comment form. There’s a place for it. It will not be published, so no one but me will see it. I will not send you spam. But I do need a way to contact you if you are a winner.
What is my favorite handmade object? My collection of handmade Christmas ornaments. I have ones made by my mom, sisters, aunts, neighbors, me, my husband, nieces & nephews and friends. Every one has a story. Every one is different.
What can you win?
Three random winners will get a custom alphabet ornament. You tell me the letter you would like and your favorite color. I will make it custom for you. (Those in the picture are keytags, I will put a long ribbon loop on your ornament.)
One random winner will get a copy of the new book, One Yard Wonders! I am a contributor to the book, so I am already a big fan and I have an extra copy. See my post from a few days ago for a tour of the book and my projects. I will sign it for you if you want me to.
The small print.
If you don’t answer the question in your comment or I can’t contact you, your entry is disqualified.
I will ship internationally.
Contest is open until Sunday December 6 at midnight CST. Anybody who comments before then is entered.
Comments are now closed. Thanks for entering. I will announce winners soon!
My favorite handmade item is probably a hooked mat I made a few years back.
I just made a fall garland for my mantel. I knitted an i-cord, cut out felt leaves and felted wool to fit into acorn caps. I NEVER make anything for myself, but am in love with it. I don’t even want to take it down to put up the Christmas decorations!
Favorite handmade item? Hmmm I guess today it is the little snowman quilt my mom made for me, she sent it to me on a day that I was particularly down & it always makes me smile! You have a wonderful giveaway!
Definitely quilts…especially a completely handmade (every tiny little stitch!) number by my great-aunt Bessie. Such care poured into it. I’m getting up the courage to try my own hand at quilting :)
My favorite hand made item is quilts. I love looking at them and learning how to make them mostly. I haven’t actually made many myself although I would love to.
My current favorite handmade object is my Merry Go Round quilt. I’ll admit that my favorite can change regularly!
My favorite handmade object is a cardigan that my grandmother knitted for my grandfather. Now my husband wears it, so I can think of them often.
I love a handmade quilt…especially one that I have made to give away as a gift. especailly for all the sweet babies in my life! Thanks for a chance, your giveaway is very generous!
My favorite handmade object is knit winter goods, like hats and mittens. They are just so cozy. They really make me feel like it’s winter.
What is your favorite handmade object?
Right now I am absolutely lovin the bunk beds hubby made for the girls!
I have new favorites all the time, but the handstitched antique quilt I’ve had for years never fails to make me feel cozy and joyful. It’s made of orange cotton and all sorts of scraps, hand stitched, and I bought it for only $35 at a festival yard sale. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win!
My favorite handmade gift is the quilt and matching quilted pillow that my 12 year old daughter made me for my 40th birthday. One of her quilts actually won first place in a festival.
I have been drooling over that book. How awesome.
Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. I am also doing a giveaway. I have two blogs, http://www.sewingwithtrudy.blogspot.com and http://www.artisticcreationswithtrudy.blogspot.com

My favorite handmade object is the quilt my mom made us for our wedding. It is beautiful! Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite handmade object is my first knitted hat. I wear it all the time!
My favorite color is blue, letter M. (if I win)
*keeping fingers crossed*
I think its hard to come up with an answer to this question. I’m the one who normally is the maker of handmade gifts.
I think my favorite handmade gift though is from my grandpa. he’s a master carpenter. a few years back he made me and my bro little boxes. each top had a special painted/routed scene on it. they were pretty awesome. very special and something to treasure.
My favorite ornament is a crocheted bell my Mother made as she was getting her Chemo. It hangs at the top of the tree. Even she has left us she is still a part of our Christmas. Also a quilt that we worked on together is so special, it was my first and her last.
My favorite handmade item that I have right now is a beautiful pink dress that my mom made me. My favorite handmade item ever is a denim jumper with a unicorn puff-painted on the front. My mom made it for me as a Christmas present when I was 7, and I was so, so thrilled. Go mom! :-)
Thank you for the chance at the crafty goodness.
My favorite handmade gift is the baby quilt my great-grandma made for my mom when she was pregnant with me. I’ve drug the poor thing around for over 40 years and am beginning a repair project on it soon.
My favorite handmade items is probably my yoyo quilt I made (starting as a 14 or 15 year old and finishing it finally when I was in college). My favorite handmade item from someone else is probably either the socks or a hat my sister knit for me. I so value all the time she put into making those items and cherish them more than any store bought hat or socks could be cherished.
Let’s see, my favorite handmade object (right now) is a quilt that my mom made me as a wedding present. All of the women at my bridal shower made me a square, and she put them all together. It’s lovely. My favorite color is probably yellow (right now, but I answered with blue yesterday), and the letter I could pick is “A.”
My favorite handmade objects are ornaments. My sister makes the most gorgeous ones I’ve ever seen!
My favorite handmade object made for me is my quilt, which my grandmother made. I got it for my high school graduation.
My favorite handmade object is the quilt my mom made me when I graduated from high school. It’s the first quilt she ever made, and in my opinion, the best. :) Bright and colorful, it’s big enough to wrap up me and another person with blanket to spare, and I’ve taken it with me through every move I’ve made since I left home.
I think my current favorite handmade thing is a felted wool pillow that I made and embroidered for our living room. Or maybe the Celtic quilt over our bed. Or the hardanger Christmas tree ornaments I designed this year and am making as gifts….
Nope, can’t choose just one!
My favourite object are the many cat toys i have, because I get such joy out of seeing the little stinker have fun playing with them :)
My favorite homeade object is little girl dresses! I go crazy looking at these on Etsy.
Also homeade soaps.
I like the stocking I made myself a few year ago, though it has yet to be used a s stocking and probably never will since it is really skinny! but it sure it purty!
a bookmark made by my son when he was 5 (he’s 14 now). it has three layers of foam hearts on a popsicle stick (so no, it will never fit in a book anyway!).
love it!
a beautiful handmade pincushion made by my grandmothet!

My favorite handmade object tends to change with whatever was my last handmade project. I have a deep love for my striped Noro Silk Garden Scarf, however.
Favorite handmade object is a stuffed bunny I made for my son before he was born:)
my favorite handmade object is the stuffed Christmas tree I “helped” my grandma make when I was 5. I still put it out ever Christmas as a decoration – I adore that thing!
ooh I would love to have that book! My favourite handmade object is a little purse I made for myself – it was my first project!
How sweet! I really love the hat I knitted for my sister, because she was so excited when I gave it to her!
I admire and love the 3 quilts my childhood babysitter made for my family. One for the wedding and one for each child. Amazing handquilting which took many many hours. Also the gift of love into it. I haven’t seen her in 15 years and she still put all that time and energy into it. yep, a favorite of mine.
Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see the book.
My favorite thing is a crazy quilt made by my greatgrandma out of scraps. very worn and well-loved, but i hope to somehow create my own crazy quilt to pass to my little boy one day
I had lots of beautiful handmade gifts when I was growing up that i remember fondly – too many to choose a favourite.
My favourite thing I have made was a snow mum pillow cover (it was a free Amy Butler pattern last year) but I made it in a mustard coloured wool for a friend.
my quilts that my grandmother and my granny made. i love them so much!
My letter is R and my favorite color is red. And my favorite handmade item is the slipcover I made for our couch… Took a lot of time but it looks great. Thanks for doing such a fun giveaway!
My favourite handmade item is a bag I made for myself, and my initial would be a purple h if i were lucky enough to be chosen.
My favorite hand made item would have to be one of my pairs of socks (i knit them!) or my waist cincher.
My favorite homemade object is my diaper bag. Only because I use it daily. I love it. Thank you for the chance to win! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. -dez

I’d love this! My favorite handmade object is a tote bag that I made out of 2 old tshirts, but I also love the quilt my mom and dad made when they were first married.
My favorite handmade item would be my Lucy doll Mama made for me. She helped me through many sleepless nights. :)
My favourite handmade objects are the patchwork blankets my mum made for my sister and I when we were very small. We were always snuggled up in them and had our favourite patches. In fact, I still have mine and it now belongs to my oldest child! Of course, I have since had to make a matching one for my younger child so hopefully they will both grow up cherishing these blankets :)
My favorite handmade thing is the felt cupcake I just made for my daughter. She has a whole fridge full of felt food but this one is by far the best I have done so far.
I can’t wait to check out One Yard Wonders!
My fav is a quilt made by my great grandmother!!
Cute!! My favorite handmade item is a pair of raggedy ann and andy dolls that my grandma gave me when I was a little girl. They are all ratty and stained from me playing with them so much as a young child. I love them! Thanks for the great giveaway!
My favorite handmade item right now is my very first quilt that I made for my hubby. LOVE IT!
So hard to pick just one favourite handmade item. I guess that I would pick the quilt that I am going to make for my mom. I haven’t even started it, but it has been in my head for years and I can’t wait until the day I actually begin it.
Thanks for the chance to win.
