Bamboo & copper
I went to the Knit & Crochet show this weekend. The experience was less cool than I had hoped, but I did get to check out the Habu textiles booth. I bought a cone in bamboo/copper yarn. They also had silk & stainless steel and merino and stainless. It is pretty interesting to knit with and is somewhat sculptable. Don’t know how much I will have the patience to knit but I decided a tube was an interesting shape. This is a size 2 needle, 12 in circular.
Summer Camp
I was thinking today that although I talk about it being “summer camp season” around here, I haven’t ever really told you what I do during the summer. I am the administrator/errand runner/substitute teacher/curriculum developer/camp counselor and expert project finisher. Once in a while I am “the teacher”, but mostly I just keep everything running smoothly.
We started out with a one day class making thermofax silk screens.

Circles
I do this beaded edge on fabric pieces all the time, but it just dawned on me that I could do it on a hoop as well. These earrings are at the Textile Center shop. I also really like this pendant. The center is a bone bead and then I have gone around it with 2 different size seed beads.
Venomous Tentacula
In honor of HP7P2, I present my Venomous Tentacula shawl.
This turned out a little more “rainbow-y” than I anticipated. You can never tell with a skein of variegated yarn. These looked a lot more blue when they were all in balls.
The pattern (link above) is awesome. Looks more complicated than it really is and everyone I have showed it to just loves that edging. I am pretty sure that I will end up knitting another one, but maybe not when it’s 101 degrees.
