July 14th, 2011|Spoonflower & Fabric Design|

This week’s Spoonflower contest challenge was to design a skirt that fit on one yard of fabric, which I found utterly irresistable.  Here is my contest entry, “Eye Spy”:

I would love it if you would go and vote for my design here: Spoonflower 1 yard skirt contest.  There are about 8 pages of designs and they pop up at random, so you will have to look through to find me.  (You can vote for other designs you like too.)

A Surprise

July 12th, 2011|Gallery Exhibitions|

9 July, 2011

Dear Becka,

At last evening’s Opening Reception of the WWW Exhibit in Northfield,
your piece, “Through the Looking Glass”, was awarded 2nd Prize. Your award
check of $500 will be put in the mail on Monday.

The reception was a great event celebrating the wonderful work of WWW
artists and we hope you will have an opportunity to visit the gallery.
You will be impressed with the work of fellow artists and, as you should,
will feel pleased being honored with an award!

Congratulations,

Toni Easterson
Curator, WWW Exhibit

Isn’t that a lovely email to find in your inbox?  The piece that won [read more…]

Sewing:  I had to post this one for the 4th!  This is a piece of vintage fabric I found last summer.  It’s a nice heavy cotton (?) with a little texture in the weave and is marked “a Singer exclusive” in the selvedge.  I am hoping to find a cute red belt to go with it, but my bit of red polkadotted ribbon works for now.  This is [read more…]
